【MYK Series】
Yasuda Kawara are traditional tiles with a history dating back to the late Edo period. They are fired at over 1200 degrees using a “reduction firing method,” resulting in tiles with low water absorption that are hard, durable, and excellent in insulation and frost resistance—perfect for cold climates.
Recently, we teamed up with Satoshi Umeno Desing, who is also the design director of the tableware brand "TSUKI," to launch a new interior brand, MYK, which makes the most of our unique technologies and materials.
MYK stands for "My Kawara," and also represents the initials of Marumi Yasuda Kawara. MYK is manufactured in Agano City, Niigata Prefecture. This area is Japan’s northernmost tile production region, and due to the tiles’ excellent quality and functionality, they continue to be used mainly in the snowy northern regions of Japan.
The characteristic uneven surface of Yasuda tiles not only gives them a beautiful shine but also provides a comfortable grip and a sense of stability thanks to their unique weight. We hope MYK can be a brand that people feel attached to as "my tile," and we’ll continue to showcase the charm of our tiles.
SUMMARY
KENZAN‑shin is a vase from the MYK series made using Yasuda tiles. The tubular vase has a small Kenzan (flower frog) built into the bottom inside, so you can stand flowers straight up in the center without leaning them against the edges.
It comes in three sizes: S, M, and L. Thanks to the texture and weight of the tiles, it’s very stable and has a design that fits well with minimalist interiors.
Made in Japan.
FEATURES
・ A small black sword-shaped spike is fixed to the bottom on the inside.

・You can make the flowers stand straight up at the center without leaning on the sides.
