FEATURES
-
Hand-Forged by a Veteran Bladesmith
Every blade is forged one at a time at Masuda Kiridashi Factory in Sanjo, Niigata, a workshop led by a Niigata-certified traditional craftsman with around 50 years of experience hand-crafting kiridashi knives for woodworkers. A blade forged by hand through many steps keeps its sharpness longer than a conventionally made blade.
-
White Steel No.2 (Shirogami No.2) Cutting Steel
The cutting edge uses White Steel No.2, a high-quality Japanese carbon blade steel from Yasugi, Shimane, a region with a long heritage as a source of steel for Japanese swords. It combines hardness for clean, effortless cutting with toughness that resists chipping, and it responds well to sharpening for easy maintenance.

-
Walnut Handle That Ages with You
The handle is shaped from walnut by Tsubofuji, a Sanjo woodcraft maker that has worked with wood since 1916. Walnut has a calm grain, and as its tannins oxidize from exposure to sunlight, the wood slowly deepens from a reddish brown to a lighter, yellow-tinged brown, a beautiful aging process. The surface also turns smooth and lustrous in your hand, so the knife gains character the more you carry it.
-
Compact Folding Design
The blade folds into the handle, giving a pocket-friendly 140 mm closed length and a light 52 g carry. Unlike a large belt knife, it is always within reach and quick to put to work.

-
Made for Outdoor Tasks
The thin, keen 65 mm blade slides into wood with little force, making feather sticks for fire starting a pleasure, and it handles campsite cooking prep such as vegetables and meat just as smoothly.
