ORI-EN is a Japanese craft brand that combines the advanced stainless steel
manufacturing of Tsubame-Sanjo with oxidation coloring techniques from
Takaoka, Toyama—methods originally developed for Buddhist metalwork.
Each piece begins with precisely formed stainless steel, which is copper-plated
and then treated with chemicals and controlled flame. This process allows the
surface to oxidize naturally, creating deep colors and organic patterns that can
never be exactly repeated. 

Because every step of the coloring is done by hand, no two pieces are the
same. The subtle variations in color and texture are not flaws, but a defining
